Figurative Language is Music to My Ears

Lately we have been talking a lot about figurative language. We have discussed similes, metaphors, personification, onomatopoeias (awesome to say I know), and hyperboles. Take a look at some of these activities to help you understand the concepts better.

I would also like to hear from you. Why do you think it is important as readers and writers to understand, as well as create, figurative language? Why is this important in everyday life? Enjoy!

figurative language is important becauses you have to know prsonification , otamotapiea, and the others. They tell human things that dont go with the sentence and they tell us impotant things. Also so we have to know those things

I think it is awesome for readers to see the figurative language. I did not know what onamonapieas were until this year. Mr. Aronson you have been a great teacher for your first year at Meadowbrook.

Great responses everyone. I am pleased as punch that you all have taken a vested interest in figurative language. It helps you all become more expressive, more interesting, and more creative in your writing. Furthermore, figurative language is simply the greatest thing ever! (Hyperbole)
